We all have something in common…

When it comes to innovation and creativity, you’re not a special snowflake, says Tim Kastelle, lecturer in Innovation Management at the University of Queensland.

Snowflakes? Morotcycles? Higher ed marketing? The 20-60-20 principle? And what do they have to do with each other? Kastelle points out that, to some degree or another, we all have problems with our “new-stuff” efforts! He outlines what he feels are three big obstacles that most of us share:

  • Thinking you are a special snowflake;
  • My boss won’t let me; and
  • Resisting change

Kastelle shares tips on how to overcome the challenges, and digs into the gumption required for innovation with help from blogger Joe McCarthy.
