The standard method of teaching in the United States is that students are lectured by teachers, then expected to memorize and regurgitate the facts! Well, at the La Crosse Design Institute in Wisconsin, things are a bit different! They train their “designing students” to work in the real world! 

Concentrating on skill sets, students actually spend time observing community based businesses and working on innovative projects that meet the needs of company owners. And, according to the article Middle School Program Creating Next Generation Thinkers, students enjoy the design-based approach and become more productive and effective!
